Kids and BuGs!

Target had a bunch of bug catchers on their $1 isle and I grabbed each of the kids one.  What kids does not love an opportunity to play in the dirt.  My daughter is more accepting of the worms and other bugs.  She says they are SO SWEET and SO CUTE. Funny! They went to collecting bugs around the yard.  It was actually really funny when I said okay go catch you some bugs and I look over and my 4 year old is jumping up and down trying to catch the bugs that were actually flying around.  Great laugh for the day.  I am so glad the weather is improving and the rainy days have died down...for now.

Check out the progress of the kids bug catching.  Oh, I guess I should add that I have a set of neighbors in which the wife LOVES being outside and doing yard work so she tends to her yard and her neighbors yard (vacation/holiday house...they do not live there all the time).  She happened to be across the street and we went up there to see if she had seen any bugs.  They spent the next hour digging through mulch and pulling up the little weeds to find worms, grubs, snails and other things.

They loved every minute of it.  Kaylei liked it more than Gerry.....I know he will love it just as much as she does soon enough.  They found some roly-polys(pill bugs) and a few more worms.   I meant to put some coffee grounds in there to help keep them alive longer but by the end of the day it was pouring down raining and it was too late.  Next time buggies...next time. :). The bug catching buckets have since turned into toy and rock carriers.
